I also thought it was Medicine Woman Hater (possibly bc of some unexplained, one-sided beef with Dr. Quinn bc she was a meddling white woman lol) but then Google revealed this info! “Chief Black Kettle’s wife in the series Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman is named Medicine Woman Later, which reflects the origin of Michaela Quinn’s own Cheyenne name. In real-life history, Black Kettle’s wife was a Ponca captive named Ar-no-ho-wok, also historically referred to as Medicine Woman Later or Medicine Woman Hereafter, who died alongside him at the Battle of Washita River.”
Also just wanna say – You guys do a great job with this podcast! I never watched this show in the 90s, I think I was too young to get into it but recently binged it and wish I had watched it sooner. It’s got such great writing and I appreciate you guys pointing out the humorous bits, it’s hilarious and love your sense of humor.
